Gifted and Talented IQ Tests
January 25th, 2012
Much has been said about gifted children and their unique characteristics. These children had undergone G&T testing and passed the test with flying colors. But what really is giftedness?
The Department of Education in the United States refers to giftedness as having extraordinary and advanced intellectual performance especially in varied academic fields. But giftedness is also described as having advanced leadership and artistic skills. Once you’ve noticed how your child can perform activities or tasks better than others and how he or she displays amazing skills for his or her age, that’s the time to let your kid take G&T testing.
Gifted children come from different social, economic, and cultural backgrounds as well. Regardless of social class or race, anybody can be labeled as gifted and talented provided he or she passed the necessary IQ tests. Despite of this, there are still gifted children who aren’t given the right opportunities due to financial problems. In cases like this, it’s best to have your child enrolled in a public school that offers programs for gifted children. This way, you’re assured that his or her intellectual prowess and skills will be properly developed.
