The Primary Test of Cognitive Skills is a group-administered test given to Pre-K through 1st graders (ages 5.1 – 7.6). It has four untimed cognitive aptitude subtests that assess verbal, spatial, memory and concept skills. Questions are similar to those found on the CogAT® and OLSAT® cognitive tests. The PTCS test is used to assess students for gifted and talented programs and kindergarten readiness. The Primary Test of cognitive Skills may also used as yearly assessments for young homeschooled students.
