Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills – TAKS Test
The Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) is a standardized test used for elementary and high school students in the public schools in the state of Texas. The TAKS test assesses reading, writing, math, science and social studies skills in children taking the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills test. The TAKS test was created prior to the No Child Left Behind Act but this test does comply with the law.
Those students being home schooled or students going to private schools are not required to take the TAKs test.
