How to Make Your Own Math Practice Questions

Not many people like math, or math practice questions, as much as they love literature or the sciences. Perhaps, it is because of how numbers can be so confusing and the theories mind boggling.  Since math is something that one could not live without, one of the best ways to sharpen your skills in mathematics is by answering as many math practice questions if possible.

Math textbooks can only provide you with only a little of these questions but the good news is you can actually make your own. Thus, get your pen and paper ready and start working on your math practice questions following these simple steps:

  1. Identify all the math concepts that you are not good at. Keep a list of these concepts and categorize them according to their difficulty. In so doing, you will be able to draft questions that will suit your own level.
  2. Look for reference materials. You may use your old textbooks, activity sheets and even clippings from magazines and newspapers that have math trivia and puzzles on them.
  3. Check the internet for more available sources. There are sites that offer free math questions, like this one here, that you can integrate in your own sets of questions. This will also save you from a lot of time and efforts.
  4. In drafting your math practice questions, have a category for each math concept. It will be a lot easier for you to organize your thoughts and questions if they are arranged accordingly.

Getting a head start in making your practice questions may not come easy but once you have started everything will just flow smoothly. Once you are done, you can also trade your math practice questions with others. After all, no one has the monopoly of knowledge and sharing a part of what you own is rewarding.
