Description

In this class, students will learn how to create 2D pixel art-style games using a tool called PixelPad. PixelPad is an engine that is built specifically for the purpose of making video games with Python and is 100% free. It provides an easy-to-use interface for creating game objects, handling collisions, and rendering graphics. This tool lets us build much much more complex games, but the learning curve is much higher; we recommend that students first take our "Beginner or Introduction to Python Programming Course."

Learning Objectives

Students will learn:

How to set up a Game Window
Implementing Game Logic & Mechanics
How to display Graphics & Animations
Variables to create Classes & Objects
Creating the Player using Strings
Moving Objects by Strings & Numbers methods

Class Prerequisite: "Beginner or Introduction to Python Programming."

Instructor's Bio:

Abhijeet has been involved in the programming and teaching sector for several years. He has worked with the brightest minds on wall street (Quantitative Researchers), and created AI (Machine Learning) Algorithms that analyze stock data, and give recommendations. He has also spent a lot of his time volunteering, and working with gifted students, and helping kids as young as 5 years old, and has been teaching them programming for several years. He has taught students that had no idea how to program, and they went on to win programming competitions. As of right now, he still works as a teacher for a private school, and still works with Quantitative Researchers on a daily basis.
