What is the SCAT?
The SCAT test is used by The Center for Talented Youth (CTY) at Johns Hopkins to identify talented second through twelfth graders. It is divided in to three tiers, depending on grade level.

What material is assessed on the SCAT?
The SCAT test has both a verbal and quantitative section. The verbal section is comprised of questions that test vocabulary, verbal reasoning, and knowledge/information skills. The quantitative section tests mathematical reasoning, math facts, calculations, and number operations.
