Our History:
Since 2010, TestingMom has helped over a million families navigate school testing, gifted program admissions, private school entrance exams, academic enrichment, and skill building from Pre-K through 12th grade. Our goal has always been simple: make high-quality educational support accessible, understandable, and less stressful for parents.
Our Founders:
Founded by best-selling author Karen Quinn, known to many parents as “The TestingMom,” and gifted-education advocate Michael McCurdy, TestingMom was created after seeing firsthand how confusing and overwhelming school testing and admissions can be for families. Together, they built a platform designed to give parents the tools, confidence, and expert guidance needed to help children succeed academically and build lifelong learning skills.
Leadership Transition:
In late 2023, co-founder Michael McCurdy passed away. Michael was deeply passionate about helping families understand educational opportunities for their children, and his vision continues to shape our mission and work every day. Jon Zeitlin, a veteran education leader, former teacher, and Stanford MBA, came on as CEO after Michael’s passing.

Meet Our Leadership Team
Karen Quinn — Owner & Co-Founder
Karen Quinn is a best-selling author, education advocate, and nationally recognized expert on gifted testing and school admissions. Known as “The Testing Mom,” Karen has spent years helping parents better understand how to support their children academically and emotionally through the testing and admissions process.
Jon Zeitlin — CEO
Jon Zeitlin is a veteran education leader, former teacher, and Stanford MBA who leads TestingMom’s growth, operations, and educational initiatives while continuing the company’s mission of helping families navigate learning and testing challenges with confidence.
Shawn Quinn — Marketing Director
Shawn Quinn oversees TestingMom’s marketing strategy, outreach, and parent communication efforts, helping families discover resources and support tailored to their children’s educational needs.
Ryan McKenna — Director of Information & Technology
Ryan McKenna leads TestingMom’s technology and information systems, supporting the platforms, tools, and digital learning experiences that help families and students access educational resources with ease.
Sue Bannon — HR and Finance Director
Sue Bannon leads human resources and team development, helping maintain the supportive and collaborative culture that drives TestingMom’s success. Sue has over 20 years of experience in Operations and Human Resources.
Teresa Saure — Sales & Customer Service Manager
Teresa Saure has been a leader in customer experience since 2003 and quality assurance since 2007. She now leads TestingMom’s Family Success Team, working directly with families to help them find the right programs, tutoring, and support services for their children while ensuring an exceptional customer journey.
Kathy Langan — Content Director
Following a 30-year career leading customer service teams for top-tier companies, Kathy brought her passion for helping families and supporting education to TestingMom. As Content Director, Kathy oversees curriculum development and educational content creation, helping ensure TestingMom’s materials are engaging, accurate, age-appropriate, and aligned with evolving educational standards.
