Bracken-ready kids make the G&T grade.

Over the years, the New York City school system has helped set the standard for school districts across the nation in terms of gifted and talented (G&T) assessment programs. The NYC system has also strongly influenced the admissions criteria for private schools across the country, as well, including the use of assessment tests like the Bracken School Readiness Assessment (BSRA) Test.

In an effort to make the NYC program more valid for all groups, including those from affluent families that can afford to purchase Bracken practice test or sample test resources, the NYC school system implemented stricter admittance guidelines several times over the years for students to qualify for G&T programs. Students are commonly required to score in the highest 5% on tests like the BSRA.
