Do I Need to Use Free CogAT Sample Questions?

A very common question of parents whose children will soon be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test is regarding free CogAT sample questions.

Some parents swear by them, while others feel that they put too much pressure on the already-stressful experience. You know your child best, and so only you can accurately determine whether or not they would benefit from using free CogAT sample questions. Ask your child’s teacher if they will be preparing the students; a teacher’s guide is available from the test’s publisher for this purpose. This should be all the preparation they need.

However, if your child has been prepped in school and is still a bit confused by the test format, feel free to use free CogAT sample questions as a way to lessen their anxiety. Remember that the samples aren’t designed to mimic the difficulty of real test questions, they’re only for familiarizing students with the format of the test. Once your child is comfortable with the format, they should have no problem performing to the best of their ability.
