What is the duration of the Stanford-Binet test?

posted by Karen Quinn, The Testing Mom - January 6th, 2012

The SB 5 test usually takes between 45-90 minutes, although this can sometimes extend to up to 2 hours depending on the examinee. There are factors involved that affect the duration of the SB test, such as the age of the child and the number of subtests which are administered.

The SB 5 test was originally developed to determine the appropriate educational settings in which to place a kid. However, it has proved useful in evaluating the intellectual capacities of people as old as 85 years of age. The tests have been crafted in such a way that the psychologist, psychiatrist, or trained administrator of the exam can point out any giftedness or learning disabilities that the kid may have. The SB 5 test is usually administered in clinics or schools.

There are a multitude of websites online that offer questions similar to the SB-5, including TestingMom.com. It has become clear that taking free practice IQ tests for the SB 5 exam can save time. When one is able to practice the same questions that are covered on the SB 5, they can reduce the time needed to accomplish the exam.
