Who is Naglieri?

When parents hear that their children will be taking the NNAT2, or the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test, there are many questions that come to mind, including: “what is the NNAT2?” and “who is Naglieri?”

The NNAT2 is an IQ assessment exam that is specifically designed to measure intellectual and cognitive abilities in children between the ages of 4 and 18. It is a test that uses nonverbal question formats, including diagrams, graphics and images rather than written test questions. The lack of language requirements in the test format and in answering methods makes the test culturally fair or unbiased, allowing children from varying walks of life to perform equally well on the exam by showing their problem solving, visual reasoning and rationalization abilities.

So who is Naglieri? Jack A. Naglieri is a professor of psychology and PhD with extensive experience in research psychology and school psychology. He has taught at multiple colleges and universities and has been published in more than 250 magazines and journals. In addition to the design and publication of the NNAT, Naglieri additionally developed and published the three other IQ and school readiness assessment exams that are used by private and public schools throughout the nation.
