JavaScript is a dynamic, creative, interactive programming language that's used for web development, in web applications, game development, and lots more. This is a 2-Day, 2-hour per class weekend coding camp.
In this class, we will focus on JavaScript coding using a free online visual editor. You will write JavaScript code inside of functions that create shapes, color them in, make them enlarge or shrink and move around the screen while learning the basics of JavaScript coding such as how to declare and use variables and functions. You will learn when and how to add comments to your code and learn the basic geometry of a webpage using this to move around the shapes you create.

Hi, my name is Valerie, and I am a creative educator and a gifted computer programmer with 19 years of college and 6 years of high school teaching experience plus an equivalent amount of programming experience. I am Passionate about demystifying technology for people. I am a math and coding instructor for a charter high school and several colleges. I teach all levels of math and coding for high school and college students including JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, Java, and more. I am a mother of 3 sons, two with special needs.
